Plain-language version, legal review in progress.

This page applies to anything you buy today. It has not yet been reviewed by counsel. When that review changes it, we will post the new version here with its date, and email paying customers before any change that affects what they pay.

What Renest is

Renest is an asset drive for AI image and video creators: it captures the models, custom nodes, dependency locks, and workflow behind a working run, and lets you bring those files and dependencies back on another machine, each file checked against its checksum. Whether the restored environment runs is something the tool tests and reports; it is not a promise.

What we don't do

We don't judge whether a custom node is compatible, we don't curate or recommend models, and we don't help you get a workflow running for the first time. Renest reproduces a run you already got working — it doesn't debug one for you.

Paid plans are bought in the web console and paid through Stripe; we never see your card number. Prices are in US dollars. You choose monthly or yearly billing at checkout, and checkout shows the price, the billing period and the renewal price before you pay.

Automatic renewal

Your plan renews automatically at the end of each billing period — every month or every year, as you chose — and your card is charged again until you cancel. It renews at the regular price shown at checkout; a one-time discount, such as a founder voucher, applies to the first payment only. Before a yearly plan renews, we email you the amount, the date and the card it will be charged to.

How to cancel

Cancel any time, online: in the web console, open Billing and choose Manage card and invoices, which opens the payment portal, then cancel the subscription there. You don't need to contact us. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then your account moves to the free plan.

Changing plans

You can switch to another paid plan, or between monthly and yearly billing, from Plan in the web console. The change applies to your existing subscription straight away and the difference is settled at once, pro-rated for the time left in the current period: moving up is charged to your card now; moving down is credited to your balance and used against your next payments. Switching between monthly and yearly starts a new billing period from that day. If the charge for the difference can't be collected, nothing changes. We email you a confirmation of every change.

Refunds

  • Within 14 days of a payment: ask, and we refund that payment in full, no questions asked. This is available once per account per year.
  • After 14 days: ask, and we refund the unused part of the current billing period, counted by the day.
  • A refund ends the subscription straight away and your account moves to the free plan.

To ask for a refund, email support@notify.renest.ai from the address on your account. Refunds go back to the card you paid with; how long that takes depends on your bank. Nothing in this section limits any right to a refund you have under the law where you live.

When a paid plan ends

Whether you cancel, get a refund, or a payment can't be collected, your account moves to the free plan and nothing is deleted on that day. If you are over the free plan's storage, what you stored stays readable and downloadable, and new uploads pause until you are back under the limit.

We keep what you stored for 90 days from the day the paid plan ends. Signing in does not extend this. We email you on day 60, day 75 and day 88, and before anything is deleted we send a final notice with a link to download your nests. Choosing a paid plan again at any point in those 90 days stops the clock and keeps everything. After 90 days, the stored nests are deleted; your account stays.

Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, your account keeps working as before, we email you, and the payment is retried automatically over the following days. You can update your card under Billing at any time. If the payment still can't be collected, the subscription ends and your account moves to the free plan, as described above.

Price changes

Your plan renews at the price you signed up at. If we ever change the price of a plan you are on, we will email you at least 30 days before the first renewal at the new price, so you can cancel before it applies.

Founder vouchers

A founder voucher takes $30 off the first payment of a yearly plan. It is for your first subscription only — if you have paid for any plan before, monthly or yearly, it doesn't apply. One per person and account; it is tied to the email address you claimed it with; it expires 24 hours after you claim it if not used at checkout; and it can't be combined with other offers. The plan then renews at its regular yearly price. There is a fixed number of vouchers and we don't add more.

Your content

What you save through Renest — models, workflows, dependency locks — stays yours. We don't claim ownership of it, and the underlying format is open (Apache-2.0) with a standalone restore.sh escape hatch, so your data stays usable even without our service.

Software licensing

Renest is not one license — it is three, on purpose:

  • The format specification and the escape script (restore.sh) are Apache-2.0. This is the part that makes sure your data outlives us, so it is genuinely open.
  • The ComfyUI plugin is GPL-3.0-or-later, following the ecosystem it plugs into.
  • The renest command-line tool is source-available, not open-source software. You may read, audit and modify the code, and personal use on your own data is granted permanently. What the license withholds is running a competing hosted service with it. We don't call this "open source", and we don't promise a future relicensing we haven't decided on.

The full explanation is in Licensing.

Free plan holding period

This applies to accounts that have never had a paid plan. Storage on the free plan is held for 90 days between sign-ins. Signing in to the website starts the 90 days again — there is no limit on how many times, and it costs nothing. If an account goes 90 days without a website sign-in, the stored nests belonging to that account are deleted.

Before that happens we email the address on the account on day 60, day 75 and day 88, and in the last 30 days the remaining time is also shown in the web console and printed by the command-line tool when you restore. We are not relying on email alone.

The account itself is not deleted — you can still sign in afterwards, your login and settings still work, and you can start again immediately. Only the stored content goes. Paid plans have no holding period; when a paid plan ends, the rule in When a paid plan ends applies instead.

Content you saved locally with the command-line tool is unaffected — it lives on your own disk and in your own bucket, and this clause has nothing to say about it.

Bring your own cloud

Renest orchestrates pods on cloud providers you choose and pay directly (BYOK) — we don't resell or rent GPU capacity ourselves. Any provider referral links on this site may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you.

Files you receive through a hand-off

Files you receive through a hand-off remain under their original licences. By claiming a hand-off you agree to follow those licences, including any use restrictions they carry, and to pass the same terms on if you hand the files to someone else.

Acceptable use

  • Don't use Renest to store or distribute content you don't have the rights to.
  • Don't attempt to defeat the file checksum checks or otherwise tamper with another user's saved data.
  • Hand-offs are private, code-gated transfers — don't use them to run a public distribution channel.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If a dispute comes up, please email us first — most things are sorted out that way. Any dispute that isn't will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. If you use Renest as a consumer, nothing here takes away protections you have under the laws of the place where you live.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
